O's Stun Red Sox!
Last night, the Baltimore Orioles completed the single greatest comeback, statistically speaking, in franchise history. They turned a 10-1 7th inning deficit against the Boston Red Sox into an 11-10 victory, combining for 10 runs over their final two plate appearances.
Best part of it: I CALLED IT! During the 76-minute rain delay, I wrote on Facebook that I was waiting for the comeback. I posted on Twitter that I felt some Orioles Magic coming tonight.
I think it may be my greatest prognostication moment ever.
But back to the game.
Little-used backup outfielder Felix Pie had two big hits off the bench, replacing Adam Jones who left the game with headaches after crashing into the wall after an attempted play-of-the-year.
Reserve infielder Oscar Salazar pumped life back into the team with a 3-run home run in the 7th inning.
Resident Man-Crush Nolan Reimold had 3 big hits.
Brian Roberts snapped a 0-18 skid with a key hit in the 8th.
Players coming off the bench were 4-6 with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored. Amazing!
The bullpen allowed 1 ER in 5 2/3 IP, keeping the team in the game.
Absolutely incredible.
SING IT WITH ME, FOLKS!!!!
