Arlington – The Rap

New YouTube sensation!  It’s the Arlington Rap!  Confession: I went out in Arlington last night wearing brown flip flops.

Feelin' Patriotic?

With July 4th coming up fast, who’s feeling a little Patriotic?  This guy, perhaps:

Favorite Dave Matthews Band Songs

In honor of the new Dave Matthews Band CD that everyone’s Buzzing about this week, below are my top 5 DMB songs.  I definitely prefer “classic” DMB over the newer stuff.  I think “Under the Table and Dreaming” has their best songs, but “Upon These Crowded Streets” is their best album, start to finish.  I definitely do like many of the songs on “Crash,” but these are my top 5.  (For what it’s worth, “Tripping Billies” is #6).

5) What Would You Say

4) Rapunzel

3) Ants Marching

2) Don’t Drink the Water

1) Jimi Thing

Song of the Day – Freak on a Leash (Korn f/Amy Lee)

Today’s song of the day comes to us from MTV UnPlugged – Korn!  The entire album is fantastic, and I highly recommend it.  One of my favorite cuts is “Freak on a Leash,” one of the band’s most famous songs.  Their redone version, as you’ll hear below, is haunting and beautiful…but they hit the jackpot when they brought in Amy Lee from Evanescence to help with the vocals, giving it a true “Beauty and the Beast” vibe.

Enjoy!

Song of the Day – Boyce Avenue's "Umbrella"

About a year ago, I stumbled upon a rising band called Boyce Avenue.  Based out of Florida, the three Manzano brothers (frontman Alejandro, guitarist Fabian and bassist/percussionist Daniel)  became an iTunes sensation with their acoustic covers of popular songs.

They’ve recorded their takes on everyone from U2 to Justin Timberlake, but their version of “Umbrella,” made famous by Rihanna, is by far the best of the best.  Enjoy!

Song of the Day – "Just Close Your Eyes"

Before Christian left WWE several years ago for a run with TNA, he had perhaps the sweetest theme song in quite some time, “Just Close Your Eyes” by a small indie band called Waterproof Blonde. Haunting, catchy, just a great, great song.

However, as previously mentioned, Christian left WWE for about 3 years.

When he returned, the song was the same, but the artist was different. Story of the Year got their hands on the song and simply made it better!
