Barcelona has extended to the deal with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund(UNICEF). La Liga side pays £1.25-a-year to display the name of the UNICEF on the back of their shirts.
Barca and UNICEF first joined forces in 2006 and Barca’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi, who got the World Player of the Year award, is one of the fund’s global goodwill ambassadors.
Lionel Messi, a preeminent footballer, has got a few individual awards. He got five FIFA Ballon d’Or awards in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. Messi received the fourth Golden Shoe award in December, 2017.
In 2006/07 season, Messi caught up with Real Madrid three times by a hat trick. Finally, there was a draw 3-3. He became the first Barcelona player who used “hat trick” in El Clásico, matches between Barca and Real Madrid, after Brazil national team player Mário Sérgio.
