Over 1.1 million Americans live with blood cancers — and nearly 55,000 of them will die this year.
Leukemia is the most deadly cancer among children and young adults under 20.
For a few years, the National Capital Area Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has asked me to do something about this — help raise money to treat, cure, and prevent blood cancers.
You probably know people who have or, unfortunately, had Leukemia, Lymphoma, or one of the other frightening types of blood cancer.
My grandfather, Robert Schaffer, had it.
My wife’s grandmother, Cecile Firestone, did, too.
In their honor, I’m proud to unveil #TeamNoCancer, a national fundraising campaign benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of their Man & Woman of the Year program.
This campaign is dedicated to the next generation – a generation that may truly have no cancer. Thus, #TeamNoCancer…a team we can all be a part of.
I will be raising money from April 3- June 14 for #TeamNoCancer. My goal is $18,000. Every single penny raised goes straight to LLS.
So how can you be involved?
Stay tuned — we’ll be announcing lots of news shortly.
