With college football season starting this weekend, many sports media outlets are trying to attract attention to their content. It’s a crowded field, as the major broadcast and cable networks, along with niche platforms dedicated to individual schools or conferences, plus all the print and online outlets, are competing for your time, which turns into ad revenue. Ad revenue, of course, keeps them going. So it really is a battle of attrition in a diffused playing field.
Standing out from the pack is more important than ever now, since the pack keeps growing each year.
Kudos, then, to the ACC Digital Network** for this video displaying their key talent and programs for the fall.
While so many other similar pieces will focus, in a straight-forward fashion, on helmets, grunting, whistles, mud, blood, action, etc., they went in a completely different direction with a mock infomercial. With a cheese quotient through the roof, retired player cameos, and used-car dealership background, this video SELLS the programming like nothing else.
Above all else, this is a video you will remember, even if you aren’t a big fan of teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
