Earlier this week, I was on the phone with a friend, talking through an interesting client situation.
She was planning to propose using a current technology to help connect customers, but asked me a simple question: “What’s next?”
This is the difficult situation marketers find themselves in right now: clients are more willing than ever to invest in technology and social business…but they want assurance that they are spending their time wisely.
Thankfully, there is a conference dedicated to the “next.”
xPotomac debuts in Washington, DC on February 25th with an incredible line-up.
The one-day event has eight sessions…each one focused on emerging technology and digital marketing tactics.
Spearheaded by my friends Geoff Livingston and Shonali Burke, along with Patrick Ashamalla (if he hangs with Geoff and Shonali, he’s good people, too), the event focused on bringing in as many speakers from outside of the greater Washington area as possible.
While there is an amazing digital marketing community in the DC region, it’s going to be great to hear different voice and perspectives.
I’m especially interested in a session on the new era of groundswelling from Dino Dogan, founder of blogger community builder Triberr. But every session looks incredible.
If you are a digital marketer in the DC area, you HAVE to join in on this conference. Tickets are still available here, but there aren’t many left.
If you aren’t local to DC, your job is to follow the conversation online. I’ll be covering it right here before, during and after.
Because “next” will turn into “now” faster than you think.

Can't wait to see you, Mike! Stay out of trouble until then!
