Read of the Day #1: Instagram, You’re at War With Twitter. Just Admit It. [via All Things D]
A few weeks ago, I saw an ad for 2 Broke Girls on CBS, which, despite my love for Kat Dennings, I find unwatchable. The ad contained this zinger: “Twitter is stupid and Instagram is Twitter for people who can’t read.”
The two services, kinda-sorta competitors, are trying to mark their territory a bit, pushing and pulling on each other. From a user-perspective, I think most people want to see them work together more, as Instagram’s photo functionality is light-years beyond anything Twitter has ever had. Of course, though, these are two businesses trying to carve out–and extend–their own audiences.
