It’s Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Welcome to #TheFeed!
In lieu of the traditional format today, I’d like to share some fantastic links. Some incredible links. Some AWESOME links!
1) The Fatherhood Guide – [Getting the shameless self-promotion out of the way first] With the announcement that my wife and I are expecting kid #2 [#3 if you count the dog], the “sister-site” is back up and running! I am completely biased, but you should read the archives.
2) Berrak’s E-Book – The fantastic and talented Berrak Sarikaya just released her first e-book of poetry. If 150 people buy the book, she’ll release bonus work, including “Etch-a-Sketch Bitch.” Clearly, you need to purchase this. [Also, check out the stuff she's doing with Huddlewoo. Sounds awesome!]
3) Cooper and Kid – This may be related to Link #1 above, but I’m fascinated with a start-up that is focusing on dad/kid bonding. I’ll be writing more on them over on The Fatherhood Guide in the next few weeks. Thanks to the fabulous team at Geben Communication for getting them on my radar!
4) Cory Booker spending week on food stamps - Newark Mayor Cory Booker seems like a fascinating human being. To learn more about how the food stamp program works, he’s restricting himself to a one-week program budget of roughly $30. While living on a tiny budget for a week can never fully replicate the hunger issue, I applaud him for getting closer to the problem than most other politician seems willing to do. Recently, a group of DC elected officials spent a night as “homeless” people. The more they can understand the problem, the more effectively they can help combat it. Good stuff all around.
